How to find your skin type






Since skin is the largest organ in our body, caring for it should be at the top of our health routine. Finding our skin type is an important task but it can be quite confusing for most of us. It is a fundamental information in finding the right care for our skin, and what are the cosmetics that we can use. These are the building blocks of an ever-glowing and radiant skin.

Following steps have been proven time and again based on their simplicity and efficiency:

Makeup Removal Wash your face with gentle cleanser or face wash and pat dry. This washes away oils and dirt from your face. After you wash your face, do not apply any cream on your face.

Keep it Natural During this period, do not touch your face. After one hour your skin will return to its natural stature. Now which attribute you see, will determine your skin type.

Treat with care Gently Pat your face with a cotton tissue. Focus on your T Zone area (forehead and nose). This increases the blood flow and helps in overall skin health.

Our skin can be categorized in following five skin types: 

  • Normal skin : If you feel agile and graceful and there is no sign of oil and patch on your face. It indicates have normal skin. You might consider yourself lucky. ;)
  • Dry skin : If your skin gets tight and uncomfortable and shows flakes of dead skin. It is associated with small pores. It means your skin type is dry.
  • Oily skin : If your cotton tissue becomes greasy and oily. Your skin shines and large pores is visible. It means your skin type is oily.
  • Combination skin: This type of skin is most common among Indian tone. It is mix type of all three of the above skin types. The skin remains oily in the T Zone area and normal in dry zone.
  • Sensitive skin : This type of skin might appear pale and uncomfortable. Whenever you apply any make-up; It reacts easily to skin and becomes red and patchy. This type needs additional care.
